“Even to your old age and gray hairs
I am he, I am he who will sustain you.
I have made you and I will carry you;
I will sustain you and I will rescue you.”Isaiah 46:4
Tuesday Fellowship
The Tuesday Fellowship group seeks to pour into the lives of the seniors in our church, those who live at Rosehaven and those from the wider community. Our weekly meetings are attended by 25 – 30 elderly people who join in prayer, worship, singing hymns together and listening to various guest speakers.
Past guest speakers have included:
- RUC missionaries
- Our church pastors
- The Bible Society of South Africa
- The Salvation Army
- Mission Aviation Fellowship
- The Guide Dog Association
- Doctors without Borders
- Baptist Theological College Students
During their times together, the group also knits articles such as beanies, baby jerseys and crocheted blankets which are then distributed to the cancer patients at Donald Gordon Hospital and needy people through the ministry of Rays of Hope.
60+ Club
The 60 + Club aims provide spiritual input into the lives of those above the age of 60, through testimonies, social interaction, wonderful teas, entertainment, fun, laughter and Christian fellowship and caring.
The elderly are collected from retirement villages in the area for a once a month gathering on a Saturday afternoon. In the context of a fun time together with entertainment and engaging fellowship, we try to equip and encourage each person to live a humble, Spirit-filled life in their homes, amongst their friends, family and with other village residents.
We regularly have above 80 attendees and sometimes more than 100 elderly folk join our events. The highlight of each year has been our Christmas Dinner on the last weekend of November.
