INTRODUCTION
Matthew’s account of the gospel is the first book in the New Testament and was one of the most popular books in the early church. It gives us a clear and thorough account of who Jesus is and what he accomplished through his life, death, and resurrection.
At the heart of Matthew’s account is the identification of Jesus Christ as the true King of the universe who ushers in the kingdom of heaven. Matthew’s Gospel also gives us a clear picture of discipleship, with all of Jesus’ radical demands on his followers amid a hostile world.

Part 7 – The Beatitudes
This week Brett takes us through the beginning of the greatest sermon ever preached, Jesus preaching the sermon on the mount. We look at the beatitudes to learn the profound and counterintuitive perspective on what it means to be blessed and what it means to live a life that is pleasing to God.
Part 8 – Salt & Light
Within the broader context of the Sermon on The Mount, this week we take a look at Jesus speaking about us being Salt and Light. The presence of Christians should improve the lives of those around them, just like salt and light improve the taste of food and brighten up a dark room. Even though Christians may be persecuted or overlooked, their presence and living out of the beautiful attitudes Jesus taught will have a positive impact. A little bit of Christianity goes a long way, and even though they may be outnumbered, Christians can still make a difference.
Part 9 – Jesus & The Bible
This week we take a look at what Jesus says about ‘the law.’ We investigate exactly what he means when he says ‘…abolish the law or the Prophets;’ A watershed passage that is challenging because it’s difficult to understand and also because it confronts the way that we think about our lives.
Part 10 – Jesus Teaches About Anger
Withing the context of Jesus delivering the Sermon on the Mount, we take a look at the topic of anger and why Jesus chose to speak about anger and murder in particular.
Part 11 – Jesus Teaches About Marriage & Divorce
This week we take a look at what Jesus says during the Sermon on the Mount, as well as later on in the book of Matthew about Marriage and Divorce…
Part 12 – Oaths, Insults & Enemies
We finish up chapter 5 of the book of Matthew today, still looking at the Sermon on The Mount. Justin takes a look at what Jesus says about our relationship with others.
Part 13 – Jesus Teaches About True Religion
Looking at Matthew Chapter 6 today, we take a look at the topic of True Religion. We look particularly at what Jesus says about ‘practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them’

Part 17 – The Jesus Way
Finishing up Season 2 of Kingdom of Heaven, our series in the Gospel of Matthew, Richard looks at the conclusion of Jesus’s Sermon on The Mount where He concludes with a very sobering ending to reinforce the need for us to embrace the way that he has taught us to live. To actually live out what He has taught, rather than just admire it from a distance. To see this, we look at the three metaphors presented in this passage, the wise & foolish builder, the true and the false prophet and the narrow and the wide road.

Part 18 – The Authority of Jesus Messiah
Kicking off Season 3 of our series in the Gospel of Matthew, Richard looks at the ministry of Jesus through his works. Through the 3 stories in this passage we see that the gates of the Kingdom of Heaven are wide open to all who believe in him.
Part 19 – The Cost of Discipleship
After looking at 3 stories of miracles last week we look at a story of discipleship which Jesus tells in order to inspire us to follow Jesus.
Part 20 – Take Heart, My Child
This week marks the beginning of a new cycle of stories, delving into further miracle accounts. The journey commences with the appropriate response to Jesus’ call for discipleship, following him. As they heed this call, they embark on a path following him, which leads them into the midst of a formidable storm.
Part 21 – The Joy of Discipleship
After 20 episodes of the series, we finally get introduced to the author of the book, Matthew.
Part 22 – The Touch That Leads To Life
Through these two healing stories, we learn about how Jesus has both the ultimate authority and the greatest compassion.
Part 23 – Christ’s Compassion And Plentiful Harvest
Pastor Zwai takes us through the next discourse to finish up Matthew Chapter 9.
Part 24 – The Offense of Jesus
In Chapter 10, Jesus sends out his disciples to drive out evil spirits and heal every disease and sickness. Justin helps us see how Jesus delegated his authority to the twelve, allowing them to share the ministry and maintain a balanced approach. This balance enables people to make their own choice to receive or reject the ministry.
Part 25 – Proclamation, Persecution & Promise
Continuing in Chapter 10, Jesus gives his disciples instructions on how they should act in the world and how they are to respond to the people that interact with them. Richard helps us see how Jesus prepared the twelve, allowing them to be strengthened in their ministry and rest in the power and guidance of the Spirit. This balance enables people to make their own choice to receive or reject the ministry.
Part 26 – Missionary Exhortations
On Missions Sunday, Richard takes us through the passage at the end of Ch 10 known as the Missionary Discourse.
Part 27 – John’s Crucial Question
Is it wrong for us to have doubts about Jesus? What crucial question would we ask him if we could? Today we look at this crucial question that John asks Jesus in Matthew chapter 11

Richard gives us a short introduction to the topic of demonology and then shows us how Jesus displays His power in the ongoing spiritual battlefield when faced with claims of being a part of the opposing kingdom.
