Equipping resources and ideas for family discipleship and fun
(for kids between 0-13 years)
These devotions are from a free sample of Ed Drew’s book The Wonder of Easter. Each devotion could take just 10 minutes, and includes fun family activities and questions for kids of any age.
You could do all, or some of these, over the next few days:
Wednesday – The return of the King (Luke 19:30, 35-40).
Thursday – Taken away by guards (Luke 22: 47-54).
Friday – Nailed to a cross (Luke 23:32-34, 39-43).
Monday – Seen, touched and fed (Luke 24:36-43).
Tuesday – He’s gone. We’re still happy (Luke 24:50-53).
There’s also a guide with top tips at the end of the booklet to help you prepare for great family Bible times.
For the next while, we will be focusing on prayer as a church. We are grateful for the gift of being able to talk to God together through prayer, even when we can’t physically meet.
We have drawn on various resources to compile this guide for you as parents. We hope you and your children will grow closer together and closer to God as you draw near to him in prayer!
Creating a routine for your family and providing some structure to the days may be helpful during this lockdown time.
Feel free to use this schedule that Pastor Dave Myburgh made for his family as a template and adjust according to your family’s needs.
Or, you could create a ‘Lockdown Tuckshop’ where your children can earn Monopoly money for chores and trade it in for snacks, screen time etc. Feel free to use the template that Michael Philip, our Communications Director, made for his family.
Here is a fun song to help your children remember the Fruit of the Spirit.
